Game against The Robinson School rescheduled for December 7th at Hofstra

Hofstra Club Basketball will host The Robinson School at the PFC on Tuesday, December 7th. This game has been rescheduled from October 16th and relocated from the West Side Park Community Center in Newark, NJ.

Losing streak extends to 7 after tight contest at Island Garden

Last night at Island Garden, Hofstra Club Basketball dropped to 0-3 in the Fall 2010 AAU Adult Competitive League with a 48-39 loss against "The Low End". The team now has a 2-7 record with 12 games remaining this semester.
Next up: Iona College comes to Hofstra for a game on Saturday, October 23rd.

New players added to roster

Hofstra Club Basketball welcomes Kyle Lilly, a 6'1" sophomore from Kingswood-Oxford High School. Lilly is considered to be a small forward and will be assigned jersey number 34.
Lilly's roommate, Alexander N. Johnson, has also been added to the roster and will be assigned jersey number 6. Johnson is a 6'2" senior forward from St. Francis Preparatory School.
The roster now stands at 18 members.

Losing streak reaches 6 games after being swept in double-header against SUNY New Paltz and Adelphi

On Sunday, Hofstra Club Basketball extended their losing streak to 6 games after a 2-0 start. The team lost both games of a double-header. The score of the first game against SUNY New Paltz was 65-54 and the second result was 55-48 versus Adelphi.
Hofstra looks to avoid tying the team record for longest losing streak (9, Spring - Fall 2009) at Island Garden against "The Low End" on Wednesday night.

Hofstra Club Basketball postpones game against The Robinson School

Yesterday, Hofstra Club Basketball was scheduled to face The Robinson School (formerly known as the NIA Prep Eagles) for the second consecutive year. However, the game was postponed by coach, Rebecca Levy, when it was realized that only 5 players were expected to attend. The game will be rescheduled.
Hofstra Club Basketball will have a shot at redemption later today in a double-header against Adelphi and SUNY New Paltz.

Hofstra Club Basketball losing skid reaches four straight games

Last night at Island Garden, Hofstra Club Basketball lost, 67-47, to "New Corner Boys" in the Fall 2010 AAU Adult Competitive League. This is the fourth consecutive loss for the team after a 2-0 start.
Hofstra Club Basketball returns to action on Saturday, October 16th at the Vincent Robinson Academy.

Hofstra Club Basketball swept in double-header at Sacred Heart

Hofstra Club Basketball dropped both games of a double-header at Sacred Heart, losing the first game 58-56 to the host team and the second game 69-43 to Adelphi. The team only had seven players for the most part and an eighth member joined the team at halftime of the second game. Hofstra Club Basketball is on a three-game losing streak after beginning the season 2-0.

Hofstra Club Basketball loses first game of the season in Island Garden opener

Last night at Island Garden, Hofstra Club Basketball lost to "Rakeman", 72-40, in the opening game of their Fall 2010 AAU Adult Competitive League schedule. They will return to action on Saturday, October 9th at Sacred Heart for a double-header that will also feature Adelphi.

Hofstra Club Basketball opens season with many firsts in clean sweep of USMMA and Adelphi

Hofstra Club Basketball finally swept a double-header for the first time in team history. It started with a narrow one-point, 48-47, victory over the host - United States Merchant Marine Academy (the first win against them in three tries). Hofstra followed this up with a 53-42 win over Adelphi. The 2-0 start is also a first for Hofstra Club Basketball after back-to-back years of opening the season with a loss.
Next up for Hofstra Club Basketball is the Fall 2010 Island Garden AAU Adult Competitive League season opener against "Rakeman" on Wednesday, October 6th at 9:30 PM.

Hofstra Club Basketball withdraws from ABA Sports of Long Island Competitive League; rejoins Island Garden

After three consecutive weeks of postponing their season opener, ABA Sports of Long Island lost one the teams in the competitive league - Hofstra Club Basketball. The team withdrew from the league on Wednesday after weeks of delays due to issues with the Lion's Den facility.
Hofstra Club Basketball will instead play in the Fall 2010 Island Garden AAU Adult Competitive League, a year removed from going 12-8 overall and winning a championship at the facility. Games will be played once a week at 9:30 PM.

Fall 2010 weekend game schedule released

Hofstra Club Basketball officially released the complete weekend game schedule for Fall 2010. The team will face four varsity programs (Berkeley College - NY, Hostos Community College, Cooper Union and Pratt Institute), play three double-headers on the road and host two home games on-campus (at the Physical Education Building) for the first time since November 2008. Also, Hofstra Club Basketball will face the Christian Cultural Center as part of a double-header with the New York Wizards of the Eastern Basketball Alliance (link: http://newyorkwizards.com) at Robert Frost Middle School in Deer Park, NY. In addition to all those games, Hofstra Club Basketball will play in the ABA Sports of Long Island Competitive League on weekday evenings. The team already has one weekend game scheduled for Spring 2011 (@ Rockland Community College on Saturday, February 5th) and intends to compete in the Boston University NCCS Regional Basketball Championships for the third consecutive year.

Hofstra Club Basketball adds 7 new members, announces 2010-2011 roster

After evaluating 20 players at a tryout on September 19th, Hofstra Club Basketball made some difficult decisions and announced their 2010-2011 roster. Seven new players, who were selected at the tryout, will join nine returning members. The team will be coached by Rebecca Levy, Aaron Drahushuk and Therron Scott (who will also play for the team).

Hofstra Club Basketball to play in ABA Sports of Long Island Competitive League

Hofstra Club Basketball will compete in the ABA Sports of Long Island Competitive League in Fall 2010. The first game is tentatively scheduled for the week of September 29th. The season will consist of 8 regular season games, all played at the Lion's Den (91 New York Avenue, Westbury, NY, 11590). The top four teams in each division (recreational and competitive) will advance to the playoffs. Division champions will receive a 4-foot championship trophy and championship t-shirts. An MVP trophy will also be presented.

In 2009-2010, Hofstra Club Basketball competed at Island Garden finishing with a 12-9 overall record and winning the Fall 2009 AAU Adult Recreational League Championship. 

Hofstra Club Basketball to host tryout on Sunday, September 19th

On Sunday, September 19th at 3 PM, Hofstra Club Basketball will host a tryout as the team prepares to embark on their third academic year of operation. The tryout will take place at Fundamental Sports Training 575 Merrick Avenue, Westbury, NY, 11590. Transportation will be made available if necessary.
